Jan Smid

Jan is both a business and academic professional with a wide range of curriculum development, assessment and training experience.  Jan is President of Corporate-Copia, LLC,  a project management and leadership training, and curriculum development organization.    Prior to living in Atlanta, Jan was involved in International corporate training in Norway and England for over 15 years for Oxford and Cambridge.

For five years, Jan delivered courses for Hemsley Fraser, (headquartered in London, England, one of top 20 training organization in world).  All courses (15) dealt with Change.  Jan traveled all over the US delivering the courses to VA employees.

Jan is certified to deliver the University of Georgia’s (UGA) 25-day Management Development Program, special topics  and Myers Briggs Type Indicator. She also partners with UGA and Gwinnett Technical Institute to deliver Project Management Certification Exam Prep.  In 2008, Jan developed and delivered an online Fundamentals of Project Management for the Healthcare Industry.

Jan has a Master’s in Project Management  (MPM) and a Bachelors of Science in Education.  Jan was an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI).  She held the offices of Public Relations (PR) Chair for the Sales and Marketing SIG and was on the Member Advisory Board for PMI National.  Jan presented a paper “What?  Project Management for Sales and Marketing?” at the PMI national symposium in October, 1999.  Jan, also, presented at the 2007, 2008, and 2010 Atlanta, Professional Development Day forums.  At PMI’s, SeminarWorld, in Orlando, June 2010, Jan presented a two-day workshop:  Communicating Effectively 360 Degrees.  In 2014, at the Professional Development Seminars in St Louis, Jan delivered various Leadership topics.
